Pass the Canvas is an interactive group painting activity designed to spark creativity, connection, and a little surprise along the way. Each participant begins with their own canvas and starts a painting—laying down colors, shapes, textures, or an initial concept. After a set amount of time, the canvas is passed to the next person, who builds upon what’s already there.
The process continues, with each artist adding their unique perspective, until the canvas makes its way back to its original creator. Participants then have the opportunity to respond to the journey their piece has taken—refining, enhancing, or simply appreciating the unexpected transformation.
This activity encourages collaboration over competition, spontaneity over perfection, and community over individuality. It’s a fun and engaging way to explore creative trust, let go of control, and witness how diverse artistic voices can come together to create something entirely new.
